Sunday Night- Williams, AZ

We spent Sunday night in Williams, AZ, a town on historic route 66 and due south of the Grand Canyon. We slept at a KOA there bc it had a pool and hot tub!! We had run into a problem with our air mattress pump in Mesa Verde and had spent a few nights sleeping practically right on the ground. Needless to say, our bodies were hurting and a hot tub sounded AWESOME! Fyi, we have since solved the problem. We may look like fools, but at bed time each night, we take the mattress out of the tent to the car where we use the plug-in pump to inflate the mattress. Then we squeeze the full mattress back in through the tent entrance. The neighbors must love the show, but you do what you have to do! Anyway, we went into Williams for a nice dinner/shopping that night. The town was a total tourist trap but still fun. We even got to see a staged shoot out in the street...luckily noone pulled a "Wild West City" and used real bullets! The campground was right on the side of the highway/railroad tracks and I worried that the noise would keep me up all night. However, the only thing that ended up waking me up was Joel's mad dash over me and out of the tent to throw up in the middle of the night. Dehydration...bad food..who knows what made him sick, but today (Wednesday, I think!) he is finally feeling better!
