I told you I had big thumbs....
Sorry, did it again. Was just going to say, if you want to know why it is colorful, ask me and I will gladly give you the science lesson! Anyway, that was it for yesterday. This morning we went in search of the showers that were supposed to be here somewhere. I won't go into details..but let's just say it had been a few days since our last shower...yuck. Anyway, come to find out, they are in the Mammoth Springs Hotel! For $3.25, we were able to go to the front desk and pay for a shower. Now here's something to keep in mind in case you ever want to go there..the reason they can do this and rent out a shower is because there is no bathroom in each hotel room. Each floor has one ladies room, one mens room, and one shower for each. If you have to pee in the middle of the night, you have to walk down the hall and pray no one else is in it. Also, there was no AC anywhere. Not my kind of hotel! We drove a few hours today down to Yellowstone Lake and found a really cool spot. We hiked on a short trail through the woods and emerged on a pristine pebble beach on the beautiful lake. We did some fishing, and Joel caught a two foot long brown trout! He was very happy, but mad that we forgot the camera. After that, we drove a few hours back to camp so that I could type this and go to bed. Favorite part of the day: watching a bison walk straight down the other lane of the road past my car...probably the worst part of the day for the endless cars backed up behind it! Goodnight!
